This site has initially been developed by the Franz Farmacka branch of the Farmacka family.  We would love to have other branches join us so that we can exchange family information.  We are currently building this site and will be adding more information weekly.  WFrank and Frances - 5 Months off the boat - March 1912e even have our own Guest Book.  Please feel free to register and tell us all about yourself and any family information that you have.   Join us in our Living History section to see what life was like in those days.

Franz Farmacka (30yr) and family: Franziska (28yr), Ludvik (Louis) (2yr), Antone (10 months), and two mules were originally from  Koberice in Opava, NE Czechoslovakia, in Moravia, which is on the Opava River and near the Polish border.  They departed the port of Bremen, Germany on October 1911 on the Hannover I.  The Hannover initially docked at Philadelphia to disembark many passengers, then,  continued to Galveston, TX; for its final destination, on November 11, 1911 with 549 immigrant passengers among it's total passenger and cargo complement.  Franz and family subsequently resided in San Gabriel, TX after immigration processing.

If you have any family history and/or pictures to add, please contact Webmaster.  Pictures should be submitted in digital form such as taken with a digital camera or when you have film developed, ask for them on CDROM.  If your pictures are old paper prints, you can have someone scan them in with a scanner.  If you don't have these capabilities, we will gladly scan them in the same day we receive them and immediately return them to you in their original condition.
